ARTREACH PARTNERSHIP PROJECTS
ArtReach partnership projects engage students in activities to learn about the creative process from the perspectives of the viewer, creator and researcher. Each project includes professional development workshops for teachers, an assembly performance by a professional company, an artist residency, and a showcase of student work in a culminating event at the conclusion of the project. A committee of teachers selects the focus and theme for the project. All students in the school attend the performance and every class participates in some aspect of the project through activities with their classroom and specialty teachers. Selected classes participate in residency activities with the artist-in-residence. Every class contributes to and participates in the culminating event through performance, visual artwork, poetry, written narrations and reflections. ArtReach projects are based upon extensive and thorough planning with the partner school in order to design in-depth activities that connect to and support the curriculum.
