PRIVACY POLICY
Friends of the Arts (FOTA) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission
to enrich the cultural life on Long Island is achieved through the
presentation of world class artists and dynamic arts education programs
for young people.
Friends of the Arts values your privacy. We've prepared this policy statement to inform you about the information we collect about you, and how we use and protect that information.
FOTA is collecting names, mailing addresses, e-mail addresses and opinions of current and potential ticket buyers in order to better serve our patrons, and to distribute mailers/brochures/emails to interested parties.
FOTA does not sell or trade its lists with outside agencies. Comments/zip codes may be shared with our marketing representatives to better understand the demographics of those responding.
Information Collected Voluntarily
FOTA does not collect any personal information about individuals — such as names and postal or email addresses — except when such information is knowingly provided to FOTA. Personal information might be obtained from online transactions such as ticket purchases, memberships and donations. Additionally, personal information may be transmitted as part of a form submission or in connection with other activities or services made available on our site. Any personal identification information retrieved by FOTA must be voluntarily submitted by the user.
Information Collected Automatically
The FOTA website collects some anonymous information about users automatically when individuals request pages through a browser. This information is used to help us monitor how individuals use the site, allowing us to provide an optimal experience and better service throughout the site. The information collected automatically by the Web server does not, however, contain anything that can identify individuals personally, such as an email address.
We log the following information:
- The date of your visit
- The time you arrive and the length of your visit
- The browser you use
- The IP address of the computer you used to visit our site. (We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information, such as the number of users who visit us from AOL.)
Children under 13
FOTA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Kids should always ask parents for permission before providing personal information to any website or purchasing any products or services online. FOTA urges all parents to participate in their children's exploration of the Internet and to teach them about protecting their personal information while online.
